The Sky Is Blue

Do you ever just stop and think about how wonderful things are? I mean, there's so much tragedy and heartbreak in the world, and it sucks and that's why people like me work to make things better even if only in some little way.

But at the same time, there's just so much damn beauty! I look out my window and I see a tree, a green leaf, and I think how amazing it all is.

Man, it is a good life!!

Surprise! FOX News addresses 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

Really amazing. To me, this is FOX News saying, "Listen, Obama. We're not gonna take you down on this one." This moves to confirm something Paul Krugman once articulated regarding the conservative establishment liking, or at least not caring about, the liberals winning on social issues because it keeps the conservative base riled up and angry.

Lately it seems like Obama is finally emerging from his bubble, but if the right wing wanted to wreck a repeal of DADT, they absolutely could. But what they really care about is protecting the banks, so they're putting this to the side and gearing up for a blitz of "Obama's so-called 'regulations' are government socialism and they're going to help the banks and hurt you!!!!!!" And of course the tea partiers et al. will fall for it.

One of the anchors called it a "civil rights issue" and "absolutely absurd".

I did bust up laughing when Col. David Hunt mentioned "how they go to the bathroom". I have no idea what that was supposed to mean, hahaha. I really don't know if he was referring to something completely different or if he thinks gay guys sit down to pee or what but whatever... He was on the right side of the substance and that's what counts.

I'm back at it

I know I haven't done anything new in quite a while but I'm finally writing seriously again. I have a couple new ideas that I'm working on, and one of them is very, very exciting to me. When I get this excited about a story, it usually doesn't take me a long time to write it, relatively speaking. Even though I'm usually bored by the idea of historical settings, this one is actually set in 1800s America. I have very high hopes for this story.

The other story I'm working on right now is also interesting but it still has a lot of developing to do.

I'm also thinking about posting other things on this blog like my political thoughts and things like that. So... you have that to look forward to as well... Horray!

I haven't been writing this much since I posted my last story, and I really want to post something new soon, so I'm happy to be at it full throttle again.
